Effigy Mounds
“From 2020-2023, I lived in the Midwest and yearned to visit sacred sites. Places of natural earth energies that could aid in meditation and healing. What I found were ancient sites called Effigy Mounds that ancient people created thousands of years ago in the shapes of animals and basic geometry. What’s more interesting is some of these sites have mounds arranged in patterns that mirror the constellations. I created this series of paintings to bring awareness to these interesting sacred sites and the native flowers that cover them. They both need our love and protection to last through the sands of time.
